About Me
I have a lifelong connection with real estate. I grew up in the Bay Area where my father owned a new home development company. As I watched my father grow his business, I knew that real estate was a career I wanted to pursue. My interest in land runs as deep as the land itself.
I have always enjoyed hands-on work and home building. This influenced my decision to quit high school at the age of 15 to pursue a job in construction, where I worked diligently for the next ten years. My father, an ever-present figure in my life, finally encouraged me to go back to college. As an admirer of his business smarts and ethics, I knew he would not steer me wrong. Accordingly, the age of 25, I enrolled at California State University, Sacramento.
Going back to school was a learning experience in more ways than one. I studied economics and learned how to budget. I also learned how to balance my work, school and life. After graduating from college with a bachelor of arts I made decision to tackle law school. It was grueling, but worth it, and it resulted with me obtaining my juris doctorate degree in 2002. My dedication to my studies, while maintaining extracurricular activities, has helped shape me into the person I am today. I work hard at remaining grounded and remind myself frequently to enjoy the journey of life.
My career in real estate has evolved into a home grown, local approach, and I’ve worked in the new home industry with small but strong builders. I found my niche in successfully and competitively selling real estate this way. My tenacity and great customer service allowed me to sell at the same rate as real estate agents from larger companies but on half the marketing budget. As a broker, I’ve been able to do as many as 150 transactions a year for local builders.
Working with clients on a personal scale is a cornerstone of my business. I look out for my clients as I would want a real estate agent to look out for me.I take the time to listen and make sure everyone understands the expectations during each transaction. This type of practice ensures that all parties are happy in the end. If a transaction is not in my client’s best interest, I will not hesitate to steer them away from it.
Right before the economic decline in 2006 a long-term client came to me to sell her rental properties. This may have seemed good for me on paper, but I knew if she sold the houses at that time she would have lost half the value in the properties. I convinced her to keep the houses and enjoy a steady income. Selling the houses would not have been in her best interest and I felt it was my duty as her agent to protect her interests.
While diligently pursuing a real estate career I have been fortunate enough to find boundless amounts of happiness in my personal life. I’m going on my 16th year of marriage to my wonderful wife, Bobbie, with whom I have two sons, Amir and Shan. When I think of my life I know that I am living my dream. I cannot wait to see what is ahead for my children and share in the bright futures I know they will have. Seeing my family and business flourish makes me feel so blessed and reminds me that I am where I want to be.
My life was put into perspective last year when I suffered a minor heart attack. During the recovery process I decided that I could benefit from a professional network where I was not required to do everything alone. In order to achieve that goal I joined an exciting and innovative agency. They value people, as I do, and provide me the freedom to focus on giving amazing customer service. I can continue to help others and feel good knowing that I can provide better service by working with such a quality company. I am proud and excited to continue building my real estate business based on genuine service to individuals and families in my community.
If you work with me it is important that you get to know me so that you will feel comfortable doing business with me. Knowing my background and understanding why I am in this line of work shows you that I am the type of real estate agent who works hard to find the right solution for each client.
If you are in need of a real estate agent, I want you to pick an agent who is the right fit for you. I would never be upset if you choose someone else that more properly meets your needs. This would most certainly not affect our friendship. I only ask that if you, or someone you know, has a need for an agent that you allow me opportunity to demonstrate my services and interview for the job.
Thank you for taking the time to learn more about me. I greatly appreciate it and hope that I can earn your business should you ever need the services of a real estate agent.
With gratitude,
Thanks,
Jake Allen
